Railway accidents reported during the period of 2006-2010 in Bogra district were included for this study, 150 autopsies were done in the forensic laboratory of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College during this period. The death of male is 43.33%, female is 30% and child is 26.67%. 16-30 years were having more incidents (33.33%). The cause of death by head injury is seen among the male (40%) and the child (26.67%) and the age groups of 16-30 were highest. The accident from fall from train was 40% Hospital deaths were recorded 25 cases after being admitted. Key words: Primary injury, secondary injury, head injury, transport and communication

Train accidents injuries are produced when the person walks on the tracks. Primary injuries are seen on the front or the back, due to being thrown or run over which are soiled with oil and dust. When the person is crossing the line, primary injuries are seen on the side of the head and shoulders. If the person is bending down, the primary injuries are seen on the back and the buttock and the secondary injuries on the face and front of the body. When the person walks at last line, the shoulder or head may be hit by some protruding part of the train. When a person falls from the train, multiple injuries are produced due to crushing and trapping within distorted carriages. The Bangladesh Railway is one of the important routes in the field of communications. Train related accidents in Bangladesh accounted for thousands. The railway network of Bangladesh passes through many towns and villages. In addition to this, many slums are located along the rail tracks, especially in big cities. The major causes of fatalities on the railways are passengers falling out of the carriages, moving trains or falling off the platform and being struck or run over by train. According to Bangladesh Railway, around 5050 train accidents occoured in the country between 2000-2009.
